What Kane Parsons has accomplished simply by getting this picture made is incredible. Couple this with fantastic cinematography and career high performance by Chiwetel Ejiofor and you’ve got reason to celebrate. However, the movie commits the gravest cinema sin… it does nothing to justify its own existence. The narrative isn’t just sparse, it’s a mess. Aside from the sets everything in this picture is so woefully underdeveloped I started hallucinating “Studio Cash In” as we traveled through each successive backroom. The Zoomer generation operates from a different and perhaps less critical cinema frame of reference…200 Million gross…let them.
